Can [insert pokemon here] beat USM w/o affliction? (water starter edition part 4)
Goldeen:
starting moveset: Peck -> Waterfall, Tail Whip -> Smart Strike, Water Sport -> Facade -> Return, Supersonic
Dragons' Den: Blizzard
UN: Mega Horn
Bird Room: Return
Ghost Room: Waterfall
Olivia: Waterfall
Molayne: Waterfall (lightning rod rocks)
Hau: Return, Megahorn -> Waterfall
starting moveset: Peck -> Waterfall, Tail Whip -> Smart Strike, Water Sport -> Facade -> Return, Supersonic
Dragons' Den: Blizzard
UN: Mega Horn
Bird Room: Return
Ghost Room: Waterfall
Olivia: Waterfall
Molayne: Waterfall (lightning rod rocks)
Hau: Return, Megahorn -> Waterfall
Lapras:
starting moveset: Sing, Growl -> Bulldoze/Smart Strike/Return -> Iron Head, Water Gun -> Aqua Tail, Mist -> Ice Shard (I'm just trying it out if it has any good use, and not just put on Return, or something)
starting moveset: Sing, Growl -> Bulldoze/Smart Strike/Return -> Iron Head, Water Gun -> Aqua Tail, Mist -> Ice Shard (I'm just trying it out if it has any good use, and not just put on Return, or something)
UN: Sing -> IceShard
Ghost Room: Iron Head
Bird Room: Ice Shard
Olivia: Iron Head
Molayne: Bulldoze
Hau: Return
Ghost Room: Iron Head
Bird Room: Ice Shard
Olivia: Iron Head
Molayne: Bulldoze
Hau: Return
Poliwag:
starting moveset: Water Sport -> Thief, Water Gun -> Water Pulse -> Scald, Hypnosis, Bubble -> Return
starting moveset: Water Sport -> Thief, Water Gun -> Water Pulse -> Scald, Hypnosis, Bubble -> Return
Bird Room: Return
Ghost Room: Thief
Olivia: Scald
Molayne: start with Hypnosis, and if the Klefki casts Reflect shoot a Mud Bomb (or something), then hit is with another Hypnosis, THEN you might be able to continue with Wake-up Slap. If the Klefki starts with ThunderWave and misses, then you can jump right to Wake-up Slap.
Hau: have to evolve. Simply not enough HP to tank the damage, because not enough dmg to onehit the things. And with that, we don't even need to run Politoed, it obviously can win, so we are done with both evolution-lines.
Gabite:
starting moveset: Dual Chop, Sand Attack -> Bulldoze, Tackle -> Rock Slide, Dragon Rage -> Aerial Ace
Lusamine: Return
Dragons' Den: Dragon Claw
Dragons' Den: Dragon Claw
Bird Room: Dragon Claw
Ghost Room: Dragon Claw
Olivia: Dragon Claw
Molayne: Bulldoze
Hau: Dragon Claw
Bonsly:
starting moveset: Copycat -> Smack Down -> Rock Tomb -> Rock Slide, Fake Tears -> Thief, Flail, Low Kick -> Brick Break
Lusamine: Rock Slide. The choice of her pokemons' moves are random, so if you survive the Lilligant, and the Milotic does not shoot you with Hydro Pump, you CAN do it.
UN: Thief Z crit.
Hapu: Thief to KO the Golem, then Brick Break was enough. Just at Sophocles picked up Return finaly, but not used yet.
Gladion 3: has to evolve. Too slow, too vulnerable.
Bird Room: Rock Slide
Ghost Room: Thief
Olivia: Brick Break
Molayne: Fire Punch. You need a darn high luck to pull this off, the Klefki not paralyzing you for starter, but it WILL happen sooner r later. For me it took ca. 30 minutes trying on *10 speed.
Hau: Double Team (2), Rock Slide. I got absolutely lucky Raichu missing its initial Aura Sphere, then the next too. So if that does not happen to you, you might try to experiment with more charges of DT.
Shellder:
starting moveset: Water Gun -> Water Pulse -> Razor Shell, Tackle -> Facade -> Return / Payback, Withdraw -> Iron Defense, Supersonic -> Icicle Crash
Dragons' Den: Blizzard (Kommo-o got frozen)
UN: time to evolve. And get Focus Sash.
TM to use: Smart Strike
Bird Room: Return
Ghost Room: Payback
Olivia: Razor Shell (if you want to spare on PP, attack the Probopass with Icicle Crash)
Molayne: Razor Shell (used a PPMax to have enough PP, a simple Ether might also be enough) If you get paralyzed, you might try, but if ANY of your moves not connect, reload. If the Klefki starts with Reflect AND then you get paralyzed - reload. I suspect the AI KBOWS that the ThunderWave will not connect in the 1st turn, but will if it casts it during the 2nd, and that's why it starts with Reflect. Anyway, at my successful run it started with ThunderWave and missed.
Hau: Return
Mareanie:
starting moveset: Poison Sting -> Return, Peck, Bite, Toxic Spike
UN: crit Payback, while holding Focus Sash
I had extreme flinch-luck at Sophocles during The Gauntlet, so you better know that.
Ghost Room: Bite
Bird Room: Return
Olivia: Liquidation
Bird Room: Return
Olivia: Liquidation
Molayne: Liquidation
Hau: Poison Jab, plus you need a crit on either the Tauros or the Incineroar
Wailord:
starting moveset: Splash -> Bulldoze, Growl -> Facade, Watergun -> Water Pulse -> Scald, Rollout
Dragons' Den: Blizzard
UN: maybe with a crit Z Return would work, but it'd be a range even then, so let's evolve.
Bird Room: Return
Ghost Room: Iron Head
Olivia: Scald
Molayne: Bulldoze
Hau: Return
decided the evos of Clamperl will just do The League, inside which Clamperl finaly got stuck.
-----------
-----------
Huntail:
Bird Room: Return
Ghost Room: Bite
Olivia: Scald (normaly I'd use Aqua Tail, but...)
Ghost Room: Bite
Olivia: Scald (normaly I'd use Aqua Tail, but...)
Molayne: Scald
Hau: Return
-----------
Gorebyss:
Bird Room: Ice Beam
Ghost Room: Psychic
Olivia: Scald
Molayne: Scald
Hau: Psychic worked, with the exception of Incineroar, where a simple Whilrpool took the beast down!
-----------
I also realised I should give another chance to Slowbro/Slowking at Hau holding a HP-berry.
-----------
Slowking: ice beam, ice beam, scald, ice beam, scald, scald - win!
-----------
Slowbro: same as Slowking
Corpish:
starting moveset: Bubble -> Scald, Harden -> Payback, Covet (this was the closest I found in place of Vice Grip, which is not available in PKHex) -> Facade -> Return, Leer -> Brick Break
Dragons' Den: Aerial Ace
UN: ok, we need some help. Let's see if Focus Sash will be enough. Aaand we deal 50% if we are lucky, so just evolve and X-Scizzor Z.
Bird room: Return
Ghost Room: Payback
Olivia: Skald (one advantage of Skald is the chance to born those pesky Sturdy enemies)
Molayne: Skald
Hau: Return
Alomomola
starting moveset: Play Nice, Pound -> Facade -> Return (get this for UN), Water Sport -> Water Pulse -> Skald, Aqua Ring
Dragons' Den: Blizzard
Bird Room: Return
Ghost Room: Shadow Ball
Olivia: Scald
Molayne: Scald
Hau: Return
Seel:
starting moveset: Headbutt, Growl -> Smart Strike, Water Sport -> Thief, Icy Wind -> Blizzard
UN: Thief Z + Thief (range to stay alive after 2 hit)
Sophocles: Aqua Tail
Ghost Room: Thief
Brid Room: Headbutt
Olivia: Aqua Tail
Molayne: Aqua Tail (it takes a LOT of tries)
Hau: have to evolve. Return.
Popplio:
starting moveset: Pound -> Echoed Voice, Water Gun -> Water Pulse -> Scald, Growl -> Blizzard -> Ice Beam, Disarming Voice
UN: Blizzard + Aqua Jet (or crit Aqua Jet / Moonblast)
Bird room: Ice Beam
Ghost room: Ice Beam
Olivia: Scald
Molayne: there is a stricktly theoretical chance to pass this: Klefki missing with ThunderWave, then Magnezone missing with Screech - but that's a pretty high demand. Scald.
Hau: Echoed Voice
Tirtouga:
starting moveset: Bide -> Bulldoze, Water Gun -> Water Pulse -> Scald -> Zen Headbutt, Withdraw -> Return, Rollout -> Rock Slide
UN: Crunch Z
Useful TM: Rock Polish
Ghost Room: Crunch
Brid Room: Return
Olivia: Bulldoze
Molayne: It's a stretch, but if the Klefki starts with Reflect, next turn it ThunderWaves you, during these times you Rock Polish twice, then start Bulldozing, and those all must connect with the exception of the last pokemon. You'll do good damage, as reflect expires almost immediately when it starts to count.
Hau: start with RockPolish, and the Raichu shall not crit, or paralyze you. Start Return metronome, and the Leafeon shall go down at 1 hit, what is range. After that you should have enough HP to make it to the end, especialy no enemy remaining has priority-move!
Carbink:
starting moveset: Harden, Tackle -> Facade -> Return, Rock Throw -> Rock Tomb -> Rock Slide, Sharpen
Dragons' Den: Dazzling Gleam, or Psychic-Z
UN: the good news is, we can get through if we get a crit. Actaly, just hold a Sitrus Berry (at least with a special build that's true)
Hapu: until now played with special buil using physical mves, but when SIX CONSEQUITIVE flinches was not enough to deaL with Hapu (Rock Slide), IT'S TIME TO DO SPECIAL MOVES.
Bird Room: Dazzling Gleam
Ghost Room: Dazzling Gleam (yes, I know we could just have Moonblast)
Olivia: Dazzling Gleam
Molayne: This is a though one. I suggest to start with Magic Coat, then Double Team all 6 times, then start Dazzling Gleam and cross your fingers. Coming to this, a PP-max sounds a good idea here. Anyway, at one time Molayne started switching in-and-out like crazy, giving me the victory. And it took less than 30 minutes on 10-times speed.
Hau: Dazzling Gleam.
